MindBody (Somatic) Coaching Certification

The Embody Lab

June 2024

MindBody (Somatic) Coaching is an organic, collaborative process that accesses the inherent wisdom of the body (soma) to guide and support our emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual growth and goals.

This certification, involving 120+ hours of instruction and practice, helps me bring holistic, body-based methods of transformation to my clients. My training in this program includes body-centered therapy and somatic coaching practices, including Gestalt, Hakomi, Focusing, Body-Mind Centering, Somatic Experiencing, the Expressive Arts, Strozzi Somatic Coaching, Somatic Stress Release, and Mindfulness.

Recovery Mentorship and Peer Support is a collaboration between people with more experience in recovery and people who are newer to recovery. As a Certified Recovery Mentor (also known as CRM or Recovery Coach), I draw on my valuable lived experience of almost two decades in recovery from substance use disorder, eating disorders, compulsive behaviors, and intergenerational/developmental/relational trauma. I am also trained in the bio-neuro-social aspects of addiction and trauma, various recovery programs, motivational interviewing, family systems, stages of change, relapse prevention, co-occurring disorders and mental health conditions, attachment theory, and ethics. I have undergone a strict background check and completed a minimum of 40 hours of training approved by the Oregon Health Authority, in addition to at least 20 hours of continuing education every two years.
